Porous Bone Causes

CroposAs is known cola itself is a popular beverage in the world, while osteoporosis affects about 55 percent of Americans, especially women. In this study, scientists analyzed medical data from 2500 participants whose age is no more than 60 years and analyze the bone density in the three areas of the hip bones and spine.

The result, women who drink cola on a regular basis (four colas per week), have lower bone density than those who avoid drinking cola. Meanwhile, those who drank cola daily had a decrease in bone density compared to four percent of those who do not consume cola.

Interestingly, in this study did not provide much cola adverse effect on bone density of men. But until now the team is still researching the reasons why this carbonated beverages affect bone density in women. In this diet cola has a comparable effect with regular cola, but decaffeinated cola (without the caffeine content) has no effect on bone density. In conclusion, caffeine in cola is the main cause of increased risk of osteoporosis in women.

Dr. Mone Zaidi, director of the Mount Sinai Bone Program at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York City in support of the research done at Tufts University said: “The involvement of caffeine in the absorption of calcium caused inhibition of the formation of bone mineral composition. If the consume cola habits at a young age continue to be done, it is quite possible they will have osteoporosis before reaching menopause.

And at the age of 30, the body more calcium than storing waste, let alone loss of bone will continue to occur gradually in the age of 40 – 50 years. In addition each person would experience the coming of bone loss varied. It was very reasonable, given the body’s metabolism, while calcium alone will be lost through the nails and sweat, so there should be input calcium, through food. Because the campaign was drinking milk or foods high in calcium since a very young age needs to be done, to prevent the porous bone.

Osteoporosis: Risk Factors and Prevention

Risk Factors

Osteoporosis affects one in every five women over 45, and four out of ten of more than 75 years

Prevention is done by correcting the risk factors and hygiene measures – adequate diet. Today, we have analysis and radiological studies, applied to the patient, can identify those that are undergoing rapid and accelerated bone loss, and institute treatment as quickly as possible.

The first procedure to prevent osteoporosis is to achieve all the requirements necessary to achieve good peak bone mass at skeletal maturity is reached, about thirty-five years. Accordingly, during adolescence and youth, it is recommended adequate intake of dietary calcium or vitamin supplements, adequate physical exercise, the elimination of snuff and alcohol. Thus, if bone maturity calcium reserve is sufficient, despite the loss that will start at this age you will notice the lack so much later.

Osteoporosis Prevention

Osteoporosis Prevention

Osteoporosis prevention plays an important role when considering the disease, the correction of risk factors and modification of personal hygiene habits – diet, are the cornerstones to consider.

Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become more porous, thin and fragile, therefore the mechanical strength of the forces and tensions that supports daily, is much smaller, increasing the risk of fractures. The disease affects one in five women over forty-five, and four out of ten of more than seventy-five years. In this way entails a social health problem because it is the main cause of bone fractures in women after menopause and the elderly.

Now, why bones become porous and fragile, ’cause bone loss (protein and minerals, mainly calcium). How can you lose?, In the bone is constantly remodeling processes: bone mass is constantly formed and reabsorbed. From thirty-five years of life about (the peak age of accumulation of bone mass), begins to have normal bone mass loss in small quantities for the rest of life, if to this we add factors that accelerate these losses, the process accelerates.
