You should consult with your pediatrician if:

- Your baby is vomiting for more than 24 hours and shows signs of dehydration such as decreased amount of urine (if you spend more than 6 hours without a wet diaper), dry lips, dry mouth, lethargy, and if you cry no tears (if you have more than two weeks old, because newborns take the time to produce tears).

Violent vomiting is persistent and occurs within 30 minutes after you have eaten. The violent vomiting may indicate a viral infection (caused by a virus) in the stomach may be a reaction to something the baby ate or be a sign of another gastrointestinal problem such as a “pyloric stenosis” (ie, the narrowing of the pylorus is the opening from the stomach into the small intestine).

- Your baby’s vomit contains blood. You should not be alarmed if the vomit a little blood. It is normal if you tried to vomit, which can be broken some blood vessels in the esophagus. However, if you see that every time your baby vomits blood and this is up, you take your baby to the emergency room immediately. So you should take emergency vomits bile (a green substance) because it may indicate a blockage in the intestines or vomits a blackish substance (like coffee) or no bowel movements (stools) with blood or who are black (like coffee).

- Note that the skin and the eyes of your baby take a yellowish color, it probably represents jaundice, associated with vomiting suggests that it might have hepatitis.

- If your baby vomit after being beaten repeatedly head. This may be a sign of a concussion.

If your baby has a viral infection, most likely to be associated with vomiting, diarrhea. In this case, and seek medical attention, you should feed your baby frequently, in smaller quantities to prevent dehydration. If vomiting addition, it gives the impression that your baby has abdominal pain and having its distended abdomen, this suggests it could have a blockage in your intestine or a hernia. This is another reason to take emergency.

If your baby is actually vomiting, consult your pediatrician if you have any questions or concerns. Although vomiting is sometimes circumstantial (the baby ate something that fell wrong or whether it took too much milk), in others it is a sign of a serious health problem that must respond quickly. The only way you can know for sure if your baby’s vomiting involves a risk to health is to consult with the doctor and, in some cases it is appropriate to emergencies and call him away from there.

" width="200" align="left" />It is normal that sometimes babies are returned to them a little milk after feeding. However, we must learn to identify when it is the phenomenon known as regurgitation or vomiting is one that can be harmless or indicate a more serious problem with the health of your baby. Keep reading to you find out what are the possible causes of vomiting in your baby and when to consult your pediatrician.

First of all, it is important to note that there is a difference between hard and throwing back a little milk, which usually occurs when babies burp and without it causing any discomfort.

This is known as gastroesophageal reflux or regurgitation and no cause for alarm. It happens because the ring of muscle that is in the top of the stomach does not close completely. This phenomenon is quite common in most babies and usually disappears before your baby is one year.

Vomiting, however, may be harmless but sometimes it can be a sign that there is a serious problem you should pay attention.

When you become a mom or dad, life will change completely. It is an immense happiness that comes also accompanied by the fear that your baby is sick. So, pay attention to symptoms that may threaten the health of your baby to take urgent action on the matter. There is nothing more important than the health of the new life that accompanies it.

Take note of these symptoms or warning signs that you should not ignore the good health of your baby:

- Skin blue or purple, especially on the lips and mucous membranes. This condition is called cyanosis. In newborns, a light blue color is common, especially if they are cold. If, however, indicates that there is widespread or severe respiratory disease cardiac malformations. In simpler words: it means they are not receiving enough oxygen. What should you do? Call 911 or emergency number in your country.

- Fever over 38 C or 100.4 F in newborns. You should call your pediatrician immediately, because if your baby is under two months old fever may indicate a serious health problem such as meningitis.

- Shortness of breath. If you notice that your baby is breathing hard and fast and you see consistently using your chest muscles more than the abdomen in an exaggerated manner, may be a sign of a respiratory disorder that requires immediate attention. Call your pediatrician or go to the emergency room.

- Jaundice gets worse by the day. All newborns may have some jaundice (yellowing of the skin) to be a bit of sun and good food. However, if after 5 days of birth, your baby continues to yellowing of the skin and membranes, we need to seek medical attention. It is likely that the levels of bilirubin (produced by the liver) have risen more than desired, and will need to make specialized phototherapy lamp. This treatment is used to avoid having brain damage and seizures.

- Dehydration. If your baby does not urinate, is another reason to worry. Generally, you must keep track well: at least two wet diapers a day for infants two days old, three for babies who are three days old and so on. Other signs of dehydration include lethargy, dry mouth and tongue and sunken eyes. If you are breastfeeding may be that your milk flow has not yet been established or there are problems with the position of the baby’s mouth (remember that breastfeeding should not hurt) and for that reason did not take all the milk he needs. In that case, do not hesitate for a second to check with your doctor so that he or she will indicate whether you give formula while you solve the problem or if your baby is bigger, maybe an electrolyte solution to replace fluids. Do not give your baby water because it causes lower sodium levels in your blood and can cause seizures.

- Vomiting green or dark appearance. It is true that babies can vomit frequently for reasons that should not worry as regurgitation or reflux. Even sometimes vomiting or coughing much mourn. However, when your baby vomits green bile is an alarm signal, it may indicate that the intestines are blocked. Similarly, do not wait to take your baby to the emergency room if something like vomit coffee beans, as this could represent a inner sanctum.

If you baby has a different or unusual symptoms, please seek medical attention. If you doubt the seriousness of any sign of her body, it is best to consult with the pediatrician or the pediatrician. Only a specialist can ensure the health of your baby. With the health of that bit of life, not playing.

Not all chocolates are equal. Learn to distinguish

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) defines the chocolates into different categories according to their content of cocoa. The higher it is, the higher the content of heart-healthy flavonoids. To determine which reports you more chocolate health benefits, read the labels when you should come including the percentage of cocoa. The best for you is the dark, which contains 60 to 70% cocoa and is often called bitter, or extra-bitter, containing a small amount of sugar for flavor and a healthy amount of flavonoids.

Find other ratings on the labels according to taste or even the amount of sugar they contain. So you can more accurately choose, remember the following:

- Unsweetened chocolate is 100% cocoa
- Dark chocolate may contain from 35 to 99% cocoa. To be in this category, you must include at least 35% pure unsweetened chocolate and less than 12% of milk. The broader category of dark chocolate may include products described on the label as bittersweet, semisweet, dark, extra dark and extra bitter. Check also the percentage of cocoa.
- Sweet Chocolate: it has a 15 to 34% cocoa and must contain at least 15% pure or bitter chocolate, and less than 12% of milk. Some products can even be classified as dark chocolate but contain a smaller percentage than bittersweet.
- Milk chocolate: contains at least 10% of dark chocolate, milk 12% and 4% of fat from milk.

Keep in mind this data when you have to decide between so many options and brands of chocolate available in the market, either to eat alone or for use in your recipes. The message of the trials is simple: less is more. If you want a rule to guide you, use the following: the higher the percentage of cocoa and less quantity. So you can control the calories and weight without depriving yourself or the rich flavor of chocolate and its many benefits, especially for your heart
